Écho des Silencieux

Three mysterious women appear beneath dark, stylised roses, their pale lilac eyes and falling tears giving the painting an almost haunting quality.

In the lower left corner, three small figures lie with their eyes closed. Are the women looking at themselves, perhaps seeing something from their past or even their future? Why are they crying? Their story remains untold.

Inspired by the work of Margaret Macdonald Mackintosh and the Glasgow Style, Écho des Silencieux is a personal exploration of mystery, emotion and the things that remain unspoken.

I loved creating this slightly unsettling world, leaving its meaning open to the imagination of the viewer.
