An Invitation to Galleries

It is a pleasure to introduce you to my work.
I create one-of-a-kind, hand-painted art screens and wall pieces, inspired by the elegance of the Glasgow School, the flowing lines of Art Nouveau and the beauty of the natural world. I am particularly inspired by the work of Margaret Macdonald Mackintosh. Her floating, dreamlike figures speak to me in a very personal way. They spark my imagination and inspire me to create my own stories around them, bringing in my own ideas and artistic style.
Each piece begins with an image that unexpectedly appears in my mind, often while I am doing something entirely different, walking the dog, listening to music or simply going about my day. The image is accompanied by a feeling. Sometimes it reflects something I am experiencing, sometimes a memory, and at other times I am not quite sure where it comes from. Gradually, that image and feeling develop into a painting or an art screen. Once I begin painting, I become completely absorbed in the work. It feels as though I enter another world, living the story of the screen as it takes shape.
My floral screens follow a slightly different path. I am often drawn to a particular colour or combination of colours, and from there the flowers begin to emerge, their shapes and movements developing naturally from the colours themselves.
What I particularly love about an art screen is that it brings together art and function. It can be a work of art that invites contemplation, creates atmosphere and brings something unexpected to a space.
I warmly invite you to explore my collections and discover the individual character of each piece.
I would be delighted to hear from galleries who feel a connection with my work and would welcome the opportunity to explore a possible collaboration.
